The 4 Flight S2 Cup Show Fund

4 Flight Industries is pleased to announce that they are increasing their support of the 4 Flight S2 Cup to include an appearance incentive.

This "Show Fund" rewards regular participation in the series. It is designed to increase car count by offsetting some of the costs of racing. Combined with the 4 Flight Tow Fund, the Show Fund brings considerable incentive to this amateur series.

The Show Fund is structured so that the payout increases with the number of race weekends run in the season. Furthermore, to assure that drivers show a commitment to the series, the initial payouts are withheld until a driver races their 4th race weekend of the season. With each race weekend the Show Fund value increases by $25.

To request payment from the Show Fund just print out the online form, fill out, and fax to Diane at 4 Flight Industries (909) 923-8855.

See the chart below to see the Show Fund payout schedule.

Explanation:

The payout is related to the number of race weekends the driver races in. Race weekends do not need to be run sequentially. Payout is not associated with what weekend the race represents in the schedule, it is related to how many race weekends the driver has raced in during the season. A driver must start (take the green flag) at least one race in a weekend to count it towards the Show Fund.

The payout on the 4th weekend of participation is particularly high because it represents a sum of the payouts from all four weekends ($25+$50+$75+$100=$250). From the 4th weekend on, each additional weekend pays $25 more, but only if the driver races in them. If a driver races in every race weekend of the season he/she would earn $1,125 in total Show Fund money. Of course, any Tow Fund money would be added to this amount.

Examples:

Sam's car isn't ready until the 3rd race weekend. He races in the two Buttonwillow weekends (3rd and 4th race weekends) but then skips the Portland races (weekends 5 and 6) and races again at Sears Point, Laguna, and Buttonwillow. He has raced a total of 5 weekends. At Laguna he gets $250 because that's his 4th race weekend. At Buttonwillow (in October) he gets another $125.

John lives in Oregon. He races in the two Portland races and then comes down for the Sears Point race but that's it. He doesn't get anything because he only raced 3 weekends. 4 Flight would have paid him $250 to come to Laguna. What was he thinking?

Mary runs all the California events but skips Portland. She gets her first payout at the May Buttonwillow event ($250) and gets paid for each weekend she runs from then on ($125 for Sears Point, $150 for Laguna, and $175 for the final Buttonwillow). 4 Flight pays her a total of $700.

Jim races the whole season. He starts getting money in May and keeps collecting at every race weekend for the rest of the season, making a total of $1,125.

To request payment from the Show Fund just print out the online form, fill out, and fax to Diane at 4 Flight Industries (909) 923-8855.
